Air Cooling System
The Love-Jugs were designed for the Harley-Davidson. The Love-Jugs tested have been modified to fit the Kawasaki KZ 1000 Police Motorcycle. Some of the events would not happen on the Harley-Davidson.
PERFORMANCE
I have a Kawasaki KZ 1000 Police Motorcycle with 190,000 Miles on the original motor. My KZ cannot spend a lot of time in traffic or doing a lot of low speed maneuvers without it over heating and smoking. The Motor Officers that I have trained with know this. I installed the Love-Jugs on the front of my KZ. I then went out and did a lot of low speed training. I spend about 2 hours on the course and then let the motor idle for another half an hour while I picked up cones for my fellow riders. During the 2 hours on the course the Motor did not over heat. The half and hour idle time was amazing. No overheating or smoking. The fan pushed so much air across the inline four cylinder motor that it did not give me any trouble.
I was a believer after the first 20 minutes. I could never stay out on the course that long before. I no longer worry at long traffic lights or traffic jams. The Love-Jugs keep my motor cool in the long hot Florida Traffic.
Some down falls for the KZ. First, because it is the only KZ to have Love-Jugs on it, No mount to fit it in the center of the Motor. It is mounted where the engine guard mounts to the frame. Mine is mounted more to the high side the in the center.
Love-Jugs are creating a mount to fix this problem and the mount should fix the other. Where it is mounted on mine motor during some hard braking the fender bumps the Love-Jugs. No damage is done to the fender or the Love-Jug. I am waiting on the mount before I try hopping curbs. The Harleys will not have this issue.
INSTALLATION
For the Harley without the frame mount should take about 15 to 20 minutes, With the Frame mount about 45 minutes. The KZ riders it will take about 20 to 45 minutes depending on how good your wiring skills are. It took me with the wiring about 35 minutes.
OVERALL
I found the Love-Jugs a very vital part of my motorcycle. With a cooler motor it will last longer and I am all about helping my motor to live longer.
